McLEAN, VA (April 9, 2015) – The HSMAI Greater New York Chapter was named Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International 2014 Chapter of the Year at HSMAI’s annual Mike Leven Leadership Conference in Dallas.

The Chapter of the Year winner and Chapter Best of the Best Awards recipients were honored at the conference.

“Each year our chapters find creative ways to improve revenue performance for member hotels and their partners through programs and events,” said Fran Brasseux, HSMAI executive vice president. “We are proud to honor these talented chapters for their outstanding work.”

At the Leadership Conference, HSMAI recognized chapters in the Americas Region for leadership, development, educational programming and community involvement. This year’s winners with their award categories were:

The University of Wisconsin-Stout Chapter was honored as the first Collegiate Chapter of the Year.

The conference was renamed the HSMAI Mike Leven Leadership Conference following a generous donation from the Mike and Andrea Leven Foundation in 2013. This year leaders came together at the Omni Dallas Hotel on March 30-31. The conference was made possible by Conference Partners Rainmaker, Omni Hotels and Resorts, and Encore. This year’s opening reception was hosted by the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Omni Dallas Hotel, and the luncheon was sponsored by the Irving, Texas Convention & Visitors Bureau.
