The Upscale Hostel Pioneer Will Open its 11th Property in June 2016

London, UK (October 9, 2015) – Generator, the innovative, design-led hostel group, will debut in Stockholm, in 2016. Continuing the brand’s rapid expansion, the property will open its doors in the city’s thriving technology hub at 10 Torsgata, just in time for Swedish National Day.

Like all Generator properties, the brand new addition to one of the fastest growing hostel groups will offer a lifestyle experience in one of the top 10 European cities. DesignAgency, the Toronto-based interior design firm behind every Generator project, will transform the building with upscale micro-chic accommodations, local flare, and vibrant spaces that reflect the city’s aesthetics and culture. Accommodations will include suites, premium private rooms, and shared hostel lodging, all with en-suite bathrooms.

The property will also feature lively social spaces, bars and restaurants available to both property guests and locals, integrating art, music, design, and performances from Stockholm-based artists. True to Generator’s successful concept, these unique partnerships will bring the best of the city to visitors and create new hang-out spots for residents.

The 11-floor property will offer travelers an experiential destination in the heart of Sweden’s capital, a short walk from Central Station, and a five minute walk to Drottninggatan, a major pedestrian street lined with shops and restaurants that runs through downtown Stockholm. Named in honor of the country’s Queen Christina, Drottninggatan has served as a top attraction since the late 1600s.

“I am delighted to bring Generator’s leading edge concept to my home country Sweden with an amazing location in Stockholm,” said Fredrik Korallus, Chief Executive Officer of Generator. “With this property we are introducing a unique lifestyle experience to the capital by connecting the millennial global traveller with the vibrant Stockholm community."

Generator’s Chief Strategic Officer and Patron’s Senior Advisor, Josh Wyatt said, “We are very proud of having completed this deal to open our 11th property, and we look forward to seeing what this new venture unveils for our expansion strategy and continue working to rapidly increase the brand’s portfolio in Europe and beyond. Stockholm is one of the most exciting capitals in Europe and we are going to partner up with the best local brands to deliver a true hub for culture, arts, events and food.”
