Washington, D.C. (January 19, 2015) – Social Tables (www.socialtables.com), the award-winning, collaborative meeting and event software provider, has announced that industry veteran Leland Pillsbury has joined its Board of Advisors. In this role, the Founder and Chairman of Thayer Lodging Group will help guide the company’s business strategy in the hospitality marketplace.

In addition to his role at the Thayer Lodging Group, Pillsbury is the owner of several hotels, including a recently added Social Tables customer, The Diplomat, a Hilton Curio hotel. Further, he is a founding investor in Thayer Ventures, a member of Cornell University’s Board of Trustees and School of Hotel Administration Dean’s Advisory Board, a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board at J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and the benefactor of the Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration.

Pillsbury’s prominent career in hospitality has seen him play a major role in the launch of 15 new companies, and includes 19 years at Marriott, where he led the company’s entry into timesharing, Fairfield Inns, and Residence Inns. He is the recipient of the 2012 Far and Above Award for his contributions to the industry and his philanthropy. Mr. Pillsbury was also recognized in 2010 by the International Society of Hospitality Consultants with the Pioneer Award.
