May 19–Town Madison is on track to have a new hotel by 2018.

Breland Companies and Fuqua Development announced today that Home2 Suites by Hilton will open a hotel at the corner of Wall Triana and Interstate 565 near the new Intergraph/Hexagon headquarters.

The $14 million, 107-room property will be the first new hotel built in Madison since 2012.

"We are excited to welcome this Hilton concept to Town Madison," said developer Louis Breland. "We heard loud and clear from businesses and families that Madison needs more hotel rooms."

Construction will kick off this summer and last 12 months. The hotel will offer a pool, fitness center, airport shuttle and complimentary breakfast to overnight and extended-stay travelers.

The Home2 Suites will be first of several planned hotels at the project.

"All the pieces are falling in place for Town Madison," Breland said.

Breland announced this week it is partnering with Fuqua Development, the master planner of Town Madison, to develop retail at the $300 million project. Together, they are working to recruit new retail, entertainment and restaurants for the site.

Crews will also break ground this fall on the first phase of luxury apartments at Town Madison. The 280 units will operate in a four-story facility with elevators and high-end amenities within the mixed-use retail portion of the site.

A website, www.townmadison.com, launched this week with additional details and fly-through animations of some of the areas within the project.

Home2 Suites has another property in Huntsville near Cabela's and Bridge Street Town Centre. The brand launched in 2009 and is part the Hilton Worldwide portfolio of hotels.
