March 27–DAYTONA BEACH — With the massive International Shriners convention looming this summer, officials at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort announced Monday that the hotel is in the final stages of a $25 million renovation that includes extensive enhancements to the main entrance, lobby, dining and entertainment venues, pools and beachside cabanas, and meeting spaces.

The renovation of the 744-room Hilton, the area's largest hotel, is expected to be completed in April, according to a new release.

"The renovation is a transformative endeavor for our property and reflects our commitment to provide the best service and experiences for our guests," Jim Berkley, the hotel's general manager, said in the release. "Our goal is to create a true resort environment where guests can unwind, and we look forward to showcasing our newly redesigned spaces and upscale amenities to locals and visitors alike."

The renovation will refresh the hotel's 60,000 square feet of meeting space with a more modern color palette. The hotel's 30 beachfront cabana suites, site of major damage from Hurricane Matthew, will be updated with new tile flooring, drapes, furniture and bathroom fixtures. Pool areas will feature new flooring, decking, furniture and landscaping. The poolside Pelican Bar will be renamed The Blind Turtle and convert to a tiki bar concept with an updated menu, the company said.
