PARSIPPANY, N.J. (Nov. 11, 2014) – Wyndham Hotel Group, the world’s largest hotel company with approximately 7,590 hotels and part of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation (NYSE: WYN), announced the expansion of its select-service TRYP by Wyndham® brand in New York City with the signing of a franchise agreement for a 334-room hotel in Manhattan’s Times Square, marking the brand’s second property in the market.

The hotel, scheduled to open by spring 2015, is undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation and redesign led by owner and operator Hampshire Hotels Management. Its location on West 48th Street in bustling Times Square will put guests directly in the hub of the city’s world-famous attractions, major businesses and public transportation.

TRYP by Wyndham New York Times Square will feature eclectic, contemporary décor alongside the brand’s signature amenities, including a gastro bar serving cocktails and tapas-style dishes; the open, inviting Plaza Central, which serves as the social center for guests with comfortable seating and integrated connectivity; and meeting space in the on-site library.

Signature guest rooms at TRYP by Wyndham New York Times Square will include five Fitness rooms, which feature fitness equipment for a private workout, and 45 over-sized Family rooms with bunk beds for children and a larger, separate bed for adults.

Additional amenities and services will include free high-speed wireless internet access; a coffee bar; the brand’s signature blog wall, comprised of two 46-inch screens to keep guests updated on local events and connected to hotel staff, known as TRYP Ambassadors; business services; and a fitness center.

Since 2013, the brand has expanded globally with signings and openings in major cities throughout Latin America, Europe and the Middle East, including Panama City, Istanbul, Amsterdam and Dubai. Domestically, Wyndham Hotel Group announced the signing of a franchise agreement earlier this year for a new-construction TRYP by Wyndham hotel in Long Island City, New York, scheduled to open in 2016. The brand portfolio currently consists of nearly 120 hotels and 17,000 rooms across Europe and the Americas.
