Allentown, Pennsylvania, January 26, 2015 – Greenwood Hospitality Group today announced the opening of the new Renaissance Hotel, a centerpiece of the Center City Lehigh Valley development in downtown Allentown, PA. Greenwood principal Thomas Conran made the announcement.

Developed by City Center Investment Corp., the seven-story Renaissance Hotel is located adjacent to the PPL Center, a new 8,500 seat sports and events arena, in the heart of the City Center Lehigh Valley development. The historic Dime Bank has been transformed to serve as the lobby and the Renaissance offers 170 full-service guest rooms and suites. It also includes 11,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 4,100-square-foot ballroom that overlooks Center Square. A Club Room and a fully equipped health club are also among the hotel’s amenities.

The Dime, an upscale restaurant and lounge, also sits on the campus and is located above the entrance to PPL Center. The Dime’s unique design features a two-story ceiling, an open kitchen and floor-to-ceiling windows.

As one of the largest urban revitalization projects in the United States, Center City Lehigh Valley has transformed downtown Allentown, making it a regional hub for culture, business and metropolitan living. In addition to the Renaissance and the PPL Center the project also includes 170 new luxury apartments, 650,000 square feet of Class A office space and 100,000 square feet of upscale retail and restaurant space.

“Every great city has a great hotel and the opening of the Renaissance Allentown is a major milestone in the rebirth of downtown Allentown,” said J.B. Reilly, president of City Center Investment Corporation. “We look forward to the Renaissance Allentown bringing regional and national activity to our city. City Center appreciates the experienced guidance and high standards of Greenwood Hospitality Group in managing this first-class property.”
