AUGUSTA, Ga. (January 28, 2015) – The Partridge Inn, an Augusta landmark for more than 100 years, announced today the return of the hotel’s popular chef, Dominic Simpson. With more than 20 years in the food and beverage industry and experience working in an array of popular hotels and under award-winning chefs, Simpson brings a wealth of knowledge and a wide range of culinary influences to his job as executive chef at The Partridge Inn.

“The Partridge Inn has served many Augustans and visitors throughout the years and was the place to go in town,” General Manager Bill Mish said. “Dominic Simpson played a big part in that success and with his return we are looking forward to being that ‘go-to’ place once again for visitors and Augustans alike.”

As executive chef, Simpson will be responsible for all aspects of the culinary services at the newly renovated hotel. The Atlanta native will oversee operations in catering, banquets, in-room dining and the hotel’s popular restaurant, The P.I. Bar and Grill. Fans of The Partridge Inn’s southern-inspired menu will not be disappointed, as Chef Simpson will be bringing some new culinary creations to the restaurant’s new menu such as Braised Short Ribs, Pork Cheeks and Duck Roasted Breast, as well as bringing back some past favorites such as his famous Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Shrimp and Grits.

Chef Simpson’s culinary career has allowed him to work for several fine-dining establishments and hotels located in and around Atlanta. Throughout his impressive career, he has worked at upscale, multi-million dollar restaurants and hotels with some of the country’s top, award-winning chefs. His talents were utilized during his time at The Partridge Inn from 2008-2010.

“The appointment of our new executive chef is one of the many steps being taken in our commitment to elevate our service standards to the Four Diamond culture we are establishing throughout the hotel,” said Greg Winey, president of the hotel’s new management company, NorthPointe Hospitality Management, LLC. “Dominic Simpson will lead his culinary team through an in-depth training program to carry this service philosophy over to the restaurant.”

The Partridge Inn is currently undergoing a $6 million renovation to restore the property to its status as Augusta’s Grand Dame of Hospitality. The P.I. Bar and Grill will undergo a transformation during the renovation. The restaurant’s renovation is expected to be completed April 1, 2015 and will reopen for breakfast, lunch and dinner service. The award-winning Sunday brunch will resume after the Masters Tournament.
