Spokane, Wash., Oct. 5, 2015 – RLHC (Red Lion Hotels Corporation, NYSE: RLH) today announced the company has opened the Red Lion Inn & Suites Brooklyn, its first location in Greater New York City.

“If the tremendous response we have received from our clients and guests regarding this announcement is any indication, this hotel will be a popular location,” said RLHC Senior Vice President and Chief Franchise Officer Brian Quinn. “Brooklyn is one of the hottest markets in the country in terms of development and the opening of this hotel places our branding in the core of it all. The ownership and management companies are well-regarded on the East Coast and it is our pleasure to expand into this all-important market with them.”

RLHC announced earlier this month the company had signed a franchise license agreement with an affiliate of Three Wall Capital, LLC, to convert a hotel in Brooklyn to a Red Lion Inn & Suites. Under the agreement, the hotel will continue to be managed by Boast Hotel Management Company, LLC, an affiliate of Three Wall Capital, LLC.

“The transition to Red Lion Inn & Suites has been seamless,” said Alan Kanders, a principal of Three Wall Capital based in New York City. “We are investing in new guest rooms, public spaces and updated technology on this property which reflect the vibrant character of Park Slope in Brooklyn, and should be completed during the first quarter of 2016. This investment, combined with the guest management system offered by RLHC, should increase our prominence in this market.”

Located among the hip and historic Park Slope and Cobble Hill neighborhoods, one of the most desirable areas of Brooklyn, the Red Lion Inn & Suites Brooklyn is situated in the midst of more than 150 restaurants, bars and shops. The Red Lion Inn & Suites Brooklyn, 279 Butler St, was built in 2007 and has 104 guest rooms, and offers complimentary breakfast.

As the nearest hotel to the Barclays Center, an entertainment and sports arena which is home to the Brooklyn Nets and New York Islanders, the hotel is also conveniently located to the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) Atlantic Terminal at Barclays Center which links to downtown Manhattan as well as JFK International Airport. The hotel is conveniently located near the Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Museum, and Prospect Park, Brooklyn’s 585-acre flagship park. Coney Island is just 12 miles south.

With an estimated 2.6 million residents, Brooklyn is the most populated borough of five in New York City and one of the fastest growing regions in the country.
