CLEVELAND (February 2018) – Hartmut Ott was appointed general manager of the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Center, 1360 W Mall Dr. With more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Ott will oversee all aspects of the property including an extensive renovation currently underway of the property’s public spaces, which include the front desk, lobby, meeting and event space, as well as the spa and a redefined restaurant that is soon to take shape.

“We are thrilled to welcome Hartmut to our team and look forward to the leadership and guidance he will bring to the Cleveland Marriott and our team of associates,” said Greg Lattin, market vice president. “With his vast understanding of the hospitality industry, we are confident he will offer guests a warm welcome to not only our hotel, but to the city of Cleveland, as well.”

A native of Munich, Germany, Ott most recently served as Director of Operations at the Westin Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Prior to that, Ott was Hotel Manager of Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Chicago, General Manager of Four Points by Sheraton San Rafael, San Rafael, Calif, Director of Rooms at Cavallo Point Lodge; Sausalito, Calif.; and General Manager of Seven Gables Inn, located in Pacific Grove, Calif. In addition, Ott also worked at the Ritz Carlton, New Orleans, Louisiana, Kapalua in Maui, Hawaii as well as San Francisco, California.

Ott received his Master’s Certificate in Hospitality Management from Cornell University’s renowned school of Hotel Administration. He is also an Honorary Commander in the United States Air Force. Ott looks forward to being involved in the vibrant business and civic community that Cleveland has to offer. He and his wife, Laura, reside in the greater Cleveland area.
