Dec. 05–An 87-room extended-stay hotel is being proposed for Grafton.

The four-story Marriott TownePlace Suites would be developed on 15.4 acres east of Interstate 43, south of the Hampton Inn & Suites, according to plans submitted to the village by West Bend-based American Construction Services Inc.

The hotel would have full kitchens in each room, and its features would include a pool, fitness center and small conference room, according to a village report.

American Construction hopes to begin building the hotel in April if the project is approved by village officials. That schedule would likely have the hotel opening by early summer 2018.

The Architectural Review Board is to consider the proposal at its Thursday meeting, with a Plan Commission review scheduled for Dec. 20.

The site plan also identifies a parcel for a future 8,000-square-foot restaurant that would be developed between the TownePlace Suites and Hampton Inn. The application for that project will be submitted early next year, according to the village report.

A 112-room TownePlace Suites is under construction in Oak Creek at the Drexel Town Square mixed-use development. That hotel is to open in fall 2017.
