Frankfurt am Main, 4 May 2017 – Albert Mayr took over as General Manager at the Steigenberger Hotel Bad Homburg with effect from 1 May. 38-year old Mr. Mayr, who holds a degree in Marketing, began his career in the hotel business by completing vocational education and training in the sector before going on to work for major chains such as Kempinski und Intercontinental Hotels. He has been with Steigenberger Hotels AG since 2009, during which time he has occupied several positions in various hotels and at Corporate Office. Mr. Mayr’s most recent role was as Executive Manager of the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof, a traditional five-star hotel in Frankfurt city centre, where he was able to help deliver considerable success.

His new appointment in Bad Homburg is to a hotel with a similar proud tradition, located adjacent to the big spa gardens. Between July 2015 and December 2016, the Steigenberger Hotel Bad Homburg underwent a lavish modernisation programme costing eleven million euro. The result of these works is an impressive mix of tradition and modernity, complete with a touch of Art Deco and a skilful contrast of interior and exterior design. The hotel enjoys a unique location offering a combination of peace and quiet and a good choice of leisure activities. It is also close to the major towns and cities of the Rhine-Main Region and to Frankfurt International Airport.

Jürgen von Massow, Vice President of Steigenberger Business Hotels, commented on the appointment of the new General Manager: “The Steigenberger Hotel Bad Homburg is a real jewel in the crown. It is now being placed into the hands of Albert Mayr, and we are confident that he will do a great job. He has a wealth of experience to offer, having worked for a wide range of hotel brands and for the Frankfurter Hof, our flagship hotel. Guests in Bad Homburg can continue to look forward to heartfelt hospitality at the very highest level.”

The previous General Manager of the Steigenberger Hotel Bad Homburg, Ilgo-Hagen Höhn, has left the company upon his own request. Jürgen von Massow thanked him on behalf of Steigenberger Hotels AG: “Mr. Höhn led the hotel through an important and highly concentrated phase of renovation, which has produced outstanding results. We would like to thank him for his commitment and offer him our best wishes for the future.”
