Dec. 14–A new Courtyard by Marriott has now opened its doors in downtown LaGrange, Ga., the city said Thursday.

The 90-room hotel is located at 25 West Lafayette Square, with it a franchise property owned by Paramount LaGrange LLC out of Atlanta.

The four-story hotel, which has the chain's latest contemporary design, is not far from the relatively new Sweetland Amphitheatre, Del'avant Event Center, Hills & Dales Estate and the Biblical History Center.

LaGrange is the county seat of Troup County, about 45 minutes north of Columbus.

The city, in a news release, said the Courtyard by Marriott features "signature furniture and architectural elements (that) replace traditional art," with a "LoungeAround" sofa and a light desk on wheels.

The lobby and common areas include a bistro offering made-to-order breakfast and dinner fare, along with "grab and go" items. It will serve up drinks with alcohol to those needing help getting into the spirit of things.

Amenities include a business center, fitness center, splash pad, putting green, guest laundry, fire pit and two meeting rooms that can handle up to 100 people.

Courtyard by Marriott, a brand owned by Bethesda, Md.-based Marriott International, now has more than 1,100 Courtyards in just under 50 nations.
