Hotel Management Services Operations The operations division at WHI provides key support and direction for every aspect of hotel management. Each WHI hotel is fully equipped with specific recruiting, training, and labor management programs, as well as systematic standard cost controls. Our Vice President - Food & Beverage and our Corporate Executive Chef provide food, beverage and group catering support to all hotels through conceptual direction, menu engineering, sales & marketing support, special event planning and operational service standards. Human Resources The associates at our hotels are our most important assets and we strive to select the most talented. Utilizing WHI’s proprietary selection tool developed by the Gallup Organization we selectively recruit the most talented General Managers and associates in the market. WHI’s Gallup selection tool assists us in matching the talents of associates to the right job. Simply put, we place "a round peg in a round hole" in both customer-facing and non-customer-facing positions. Further, we provide direction in the areas of compensation, benefits, training and development to create a positive working environment in which our associates can learn and grow. Financial Services WHI provides financial services to over 90 hotels: currently 31 hotels are managed by Winegardner & Hammons, Inc. and 60 hotels are managed by John Q. Hammons Hotels. A staff of experienced CPAs, strong internal controls, a state-of-the-art AS/400 system and an integrated PC network, all allow the Financial Services division of WHI to collect, properly interpret and consolidate financial information to ensure our hotels are operating cost-effectively and profitably. With centralized accounting services and uniform procedures, we improve cash flow and timely reporting for each ownership group, as well as help corporate office management to closely monitor each property’s operation. Compensation, insurance, associate benefits, and retirement options are all also regularly monitored to ensure they are competitive, attractive and affordable for our hotel owners. Sales & Marketing The WHI Sales and Marketing Division is responsible for maximizing revenues and profits through precise market positioning and well thought out marketing plans and programs. An aggressive on site commissioned sales force is led by management and supported by our experienced national sales team which provides key services in the areas of eCommerce, pricing, revenue management, regional sales support and athletic sales. WHI’s innovative Business Development department provides highly qualified group leads and competitive intelligence that direct our sales teams to targeted customer segments. This disciplined approach prioritizes potential customers and results in increased sales productivity. Our targeted marketing programs offer our hotels greater flexibility in changing marketing conditions and are the reason why WHI managed hotels consistently achieve market share premiums. Construction & Product Management WHI’s Construction division is responsible for satisfying the needs of our customers by providing quality hotel products. Our construction division provides various disciplines including our unique METS (Maintenance, Energy, Telecommunications, and Safety) program. METS ensures we make the most of our available resources, decrease expenditures and increase profits through asset preservation. Our Life/Safety Department maintains compliance with industry and brand standards, educates our hotels in maintaining our fire alarm systems and our associate and guest safety programs. Our construction and design
services are made available to our ownership groups for an additional fee;
however they are not required.
