Who We Are -

Siegel Communications, Inc is a media company based in Atlanta , GA. SCI's main business is publishing the magazine Hospitality Upgrade (formally the Hotel and Restaurant Technology UPDATE). Rich Siegel is the sole owner of SCI (actually him and the many people he still owes money to ). SCI also operates the www.hospitalityupgrade.com web site (formally www.updateplus.com). Rich also has a fifty per cent interest in Hospitality Internet Media LLC, the parent company of www.hotel-online.com , the hotel industry's number one news web site which also produces a daily worldwide email of hospitality related headlines.

Rich worked in the hotel industry in the seventies, trained users of hotel applications and then went into a career of selling technology to the hotel industry in the eighties. In 1992, Rich launched Hospitality & Automation which was a business that produced a small newsletter type publication for those following the latest technology news for the hotel industry. In 1994, the publication became the H&A UPDATE, a four color magazine and expanded to include all facets of hospitality including hotels, foodservice and travel technologies. The UPDATE Magazine officially became Hospitality Upgrade in March of 2000.

Rich speaks often on the state of technology at conferences throughout the world and also co-produces technology exhibits at many trade shows including the International Hotel Motel and Restaurant Show every November in NYC. He also sits on numerous advisory committees including the HITEC Advisory Committee and puts together and moderates the CIO panel every year at HITEC.
