Dennis P. Gemberling CHA, CFBE, FMP, FCSI is founder and president of The Perry Group, a consortium of hospitality professionals, providing interim management, consulting and expert services exclusively to the lodging, foodservice, resort, gaming and club industry.  A graduate of several lodging and foodservice management programs, he has earned the Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) and Certified Food and Beverage Executive (CFBE) designations through the American Hotel and Motel Association and Certified Foodservice Management Professional (FMP) through the National Restaurant Association. He is also a professional member of Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI) and the Turnaround Management Association (TMA).

A resident of San Francisco, Mr. Gemberling began his business career with a Pennsylvania country club in 1963, concentrating on foodservice and private club activities.  Later, he moved into hotel and restaurant management with Hotel Valley Forge and CPC International (Dutch Pantry Restaurants).  He then opened and managed a first class, 224 room Holiday Inn in downtown Washington, DC as Food and Beverage Director and later joined Ramada, Inc. in 1977.  There he was Director of Food and Beverage and General Manager for several of the company's East Coast and Mid-Western states' properties.  His work for Ramada earned him the system's "Top 10 Hotels Award" in recognition of his skills in managing every department within a hotel and food and beverage complex.  In 1983, he joined the Halloran Plaza as General Manager to manage and direct the renovation of this multiple restaurant, banquet, night club and convention center in New Jersey.  He moved to Hotel Properties of America (Oppenheimer & Company) as General Manager of the historic 450 room San Franciscan Hotel in San Francisco, California in 1984.  His responsibilities also included trouble-shooting, marketing and financial administration for their four other West Coast hotels and resorts, comprising another 550 rooms, in Bakersfield, Concord, Palm Springs and San Francisco.  Afterwards, he became Senior Vice President of Signature Hospitality Group (Signature Hotels Corporation), a Phoenix, Arizona company specializing in resort and hospitality management services.

Recognizing the need for results-oriented and cost-effective management consulting services to the expanding foodservice and lodging industry, Mr. Gemberling formed The Perry Group in 1985. Recent engagements include acquisitions, due diligence, on and off-site interim management, pre-openings, turnarounds, trouble-shooting, restructuring and dispositions. Also, the firm provides arbitration, bankruptcy and litigation support and expert testimony.
