SAN MATEO, C.A., June 3 -- SRS Hotels, a consortium of more than 330
hotels in 56 countries, has selected WorldRes, Inc. as its newest
Internet booking system. The announcement was made jointly today
by
Peter Agel, chief executive of SRS Hotels (based in Frankfurt,
Germany) and Eric Christensen, chief executive officer of WorldRes.
With this agreement, SRS properties will be featured on WorldRes'
Places To Stay Web site (http://www.placestostay.com)
with online reservation capability. According to Agel, "We were attracted
to WorldRes because of its superior Internet booking engine and its
ability to interface with our
central reservation system, TRUST International, and our existing Web
site (http://www.srshotels.com)."
SRS Hotels was also attracted to Places To Stay, WorldRes' technologically
advanced hotel site on the
Web, which includes a wide-area search function.
"The WorldRes search function is of enormous benefit, because it
enables consumers to quickly determine hotel availability by a particular
city or region without taking the time to check each hotel
individually," said Edward N. Brill, vice president of the Americas,
SRS Hotels. "They can easily find and select a property, make a
reservation, and receive immediate booking confirmation." WorldRes
will assist SRS Hotels with proactive Internet marketing programs,
including targeted marketing via e-mail to online travelers. SRS
Hotels also will use WorldRes to market SRS properties to a wide range
of customers worldwide on Places To Stay and other major travel and
destination sites.
WorldRes' CEO Eric Christensen said the agreement "links two highly
innovative companies, and our partnership will enable us to develop
and implement a complete Internet sales and marketing strategy
for the collection of SRS Hotels. SRS Hotels is widely recognized as
providing a high level of global sales and marketing services to some
of the world¹s finest properties. We are very proud to have
our technology selected and endorsed by one of the world¹s leading
hotel companies."
SRS Hotels offers three highly recognizable collections of hotels,
including "The Deluxe Collection," hotels of refined elegance and
luxurious comfort; "The First Class Collection," hotels of casual
elegance, superior class and high quality; and "The Comfort Collection,"
hotels characterized by casual ambiance, intimate atmosphere and
moderate price. The consortium provides a wide variety of corporate,
group and leisure marketing and sales programs, including Dollars
& Sense, a special rate program of up to 50% off normal rates
