Wyndham Mandating New Standards, Such as a
Comfort Desk Chair and Luxury Bedding;
Completion Set for End of 2001
High-Speed Internet Access and Cordless Phones
Are Now Standard In Every Room

DALLAS (Nov. 16, 2000) - This much is clear:  As working on the road increases in importance for business travelers, it takes more than an in-room coffeemaker or iron to satisfy their discerning needs.  According to an American Express Forecast, productivity on the road has become more important to business travelers, and key to achieving it is the ability to access technology.

In response to this trend, Wyndham is introducing "The Room That Performs."  The new concept embraces high-speed Internet access, a multi-function telephone, a superior comfort desk chair and luxury bedding - all designed to make living and working on the road a more enjoyable and productive experience.

"The Room That Performs" will be available at every Wyndham-owned hotel and resort by March 2001, and at all Wyndham-branded hotels and Summerfield Suites by Wyndham properties by the end of next year.

"The Wyndham 'Room That Performs' provides business travel guests with an environment that works with them - not against them.  Not only can guests accomplish more, they can do so in comfort and style," said Fred J. Kleisner, chairman and chief executive officer of Wyndham International, Inc.  "Because Wyndham owns the majority of its properties, we can implement these upgrades quickly and provide consistency to business travelers throughout all Wyndham hotels."
Fred J. Kleisner -- President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Kleisner joined the company in 1999 following a 35-year career with several of the nation's leading hotel companies. Mr. Kleisner was previously president and chief operating officer- The Americas Hotel Group for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. Previously he served in  senior executive positions with the Interstate, Westin, Sheraton and Hilton hotel organizations. Earlier in his career, he also served as the general manager for several landmark hotels, including The Waldorf Astoria and The Waldorf Towers.

The new Wyndham "Room That Performs" will include:

High-Speed Wireless Internet Access - To meet the needs of laptop-toting business travelers, Wyndham is partnering with telecommunications leader Wayport, Inc., to offer high-speed Internet access.  Wyndham will be the first upscale national hotel brand to install high-speed Internet access in all of its guestrooms across all properties.  T1 lines will provide easily accessible connections, linking guests to the Internet up to 50 times faster than ordinary phone lines.  For Wyndham ByRequestSM members, Wyndham waives the $9.95 fee for 24-hours of connectivity and offers Internet access on a complimentary basis.  Wireless Internet technology will also be installed in meeting rooms and in public areas such as hotel lobbies.
Two-Line Cordless Phones - A cordless feature frees guests to multi-task during phone calls, while dual-lines enable them to check e-mail and use the phone simultaneously.  Specifically designed for the unique requirements of the hospitality industry, the Teledex CL2910 telephone uses patented ScurCheck( technology to ensure optimum performance regardless of the number of cordless phones in use at one time in a hotel.
High-Performance Ergonomically Designed Desk Chairs - Designed with the business traveler in mind, Herman Miller's Aeron desk chair provides comfort while guests work in their hotel rooms.  "The new ergonomically designed Aeron chair is just one example of how Wyndham is delivering superior comfort to business travelers," said Ted Teng, president and chief operating of officer of Wyndham International.
Upgraded Luxury Bedding - A good night's sleep is crucial to doing business, so Wyndham is overhauling its standard bedding with a new pillow-top mattress that envelops a guest in luxurious comfort.  New bedding featuring Joseph Abboud pillows and pillow cases, coverlets/duvets, and decorative pillow shams and bedskirts welcome guests with a fresh, contemporary floral pattern.  "We have found that sometimes the smallest details offer our guests the comfort of home in their hotel room," said Teng.

All of Wyndham's guest room amenities will be available for purchase (excluding high-speed Internet access), so guests can re-create Wyndham's "Room That Performs" in their own homes.

The "Room That Performs" amenity upgrades accompany the special touches Wyndham has become known for, such as a well-lit room, an oversized work desk, a coffeemaker, shower massager, complimentary newspaper, iron, ironing board and wooden coat and skirt hangers.  Guests who desire a more customized level of service can enroll in the Wyndham ByRequestSM frequent guest program to receive personalized items and services that meet their individual needs.

The Wyndham brand is owned and managed by Wyndham International, Inc. (NYSE: WYN).
