Softscribe Inc. Targets New Entrants Into the
Hospitality Industry
November 2000 - Business entry barriers lowered by the Internet are triggering a wave of cross-industry collaboration as more companies outside the hospitality industry seek to broaden their reach into that market.

"We're a good example of that trend," said Michael Squires, president of Softscribe Inc., provider of technology marketing and sales services to vendors in and outside the hospitality industry, companies newly targeting that market, and small conference-oriented businesses.  Softscribe's growth has really been because of pull-through demand from companies in other industries wanting a way to access the hospitality market.  We offer a Fast Class in the hotel business, its players and technologies, and provide follow-through with marketing projects until our client is launched in the industry."

Squires, whose background includes corporate and independent hotel management, and upper sales management positions at several large PMS companies, indicated Softscribes client profiles range from an international water-birthing association (GMCHA), to an ex-oil industry executive with a new hotel products division, to a real estate conglomerate requiring a rapid ramp-up of portal-to-GDS-to-property functionality.

"The common denominator is that these are all successful companies that need a temporary hospitality connection and instant market intelligence to have their offering up and adding value in the hospitality industry as soon as possible, said Squires.  We have even been contacted by a resort GM asking us to sit in on the propertys vendor demonstrations at their next round of technology purchases.  They like the idea of having inside sales intelligence on their side of the table for a change.

Softscribe Inc. provides hotel industry sales and marketing intelligence, project-based sales assistance, and technology purchase process evaluation.
