 Former Office Space at Hyatt Regency Waikiki 
Converted to the Award Winning Na Ho�ola Spa 
HONOLULU - November 3, 2000 - The Na Ho�ola Spa at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort & Spa was named a Grand Award winner in the 15th Annual Renaissance Remodeling Competition.  

Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo (WATG), the project�s architects and interior designers, were credited with converting two floors of offices and storage space into �the first world-class spa in Waikiki.�  Dick Pacific Construction Company was the contractor for this 10,000-square-foot renovation project.  
 

�The spa has become so popular, both with our guests and with those from surrounding hotels,� says Paul Tang, the hotel�s general manager, �that it has completely elevated our position in the marketplace and led us to formally change the name of our property to the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort & Spa.�  

The design incorporates uniquely Hawaiian features, and the treatments utilize native Hawaiian medicinal plants.  The facility includes reception and exercise areas, two lounges, locker and

restrooms, plus 19 treatment rooms (massage, jet bath, make-up, vichy shower) and wedding salon that use two-story high windows for views of the Ko'olau Mountains and renovated Kuhio Beach in Waikiki.  

Judges evaluated 32 entrants on the basis of creativity, aesthetic appeal, workmanship, functional value, use of materials, cost effectiveness and the successful integration of new work into the existing structure. 

Na Ho�ola, which means �many healers� in Hawaiian, is a name that was carefully selected by a respected Hawaiian elder or kupuna.
