 Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Invests $3 million Equity
in LifeCast, a Marketer of Luxury Brands
DALLAS � DEC. 19, 2000 � LifeCast, the leading provider of online services for private clubs and their members, today announced that Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has entered into a multi-year, multi-million dollar marketing agreement with LifeCast.  In addition, an affiliate of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has invested $3 million in the online company.

With this funding, LifeCast will continue to launch new affiliate club Web sites and expand its online product and service offerings.  As part of a multi-million dollar, five-year agreement, LifeCast will provide Fairmont Hotels & Resorts with marketing services and preferred advertising on its affiliate club Web sites.  The deal gives Fairmont Hotels & Resorts an indirect equity interest in LifeCast and also designates Chris Cahill, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts president and chief operating officer, as a director on LifeCast�s board of directors.

�Our affiliate club members will benefit from this partnership in that we will be providing them access to exclusive offers from landmark luxury hotels,� said Gerard Smith, chief executive officer of LifeCast.  �Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is a natural partner for us in that both companies� products and services serve the same affluent demographic, which allows us to share our offerings with each others� customers.�
