Michael Bryant Named Director of Sales and Marketing for SunSwept Resorts |
Castries, St. Lucia (September 27, 2000) - Julian Ayers has been named
General Manager at LeSPORT and Philip Cardnell has replaced him as General
Manager at Rendezvous. The appointments are effective immediately and were
made by Craig Barnard, Managing Director for SunSwept Resorts, which owns
and manages both of these St. Lucia properties.
Ayers had been General Manager at Rendezvous since April 1998. Prior to that, in 1997, he joined the Parkroyal Sanur Bali in Indonesia as Food and Beverage Director and, from 1994-1997, he was General Manager at the Crathorne Hall Hotel in North Yorkshire, England. During his tenure there, the property was honored with the Automobile Association�s Hotel of the Year award for England (1995). Other hotel experience included positions in England; in Scotland, at Gleneagles; and at F.D.R. Resorts on Jamaica. Ayers received a Higher National Diploma in Hotel, Catering and Institutional
Management from Suffolk College in Ipswich, England.
Cardnell received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management from the University of Portsmouth, England. Michael Bryant has been named Director of Sales and Marketing
The appointment was made by Craig Barnard, Managing Director of SunSwept, and is effective immediately. His responsibilities entail the coordination of all sales and marketing activities for SunSwept Resorts= three all-inclusive properties: LaSOURCE, Grenada and LeSPORT and Rendezvous, St. Lucia. This includes directing the sales team, working with travel agencies and tour operators and coordinating all advertising and public relations activities for the resorts. Bryant brings 23 years� hotel experience to the position. Since 1995, he was General Manager of LeSPORT, where he oversaw a comprehensive refurbishment in 1999 that also increased the number of rooms by 50%. While he was at LeSPORT, the hotel won several awards. Previously, Bryant served as General Manager at leading hotels in England, including the award-winning St. Martins Hotel on the Scilly Isles, the Manor House Hotel in Devon and the Queens Hotel in Penzance. Prior to this, his experience included managerial positions at other hotels in England, Gambia and Mallorca, Spain. Bryant graduated from the Birmingham (England) College of Food and Domestic Art and has a degree in Hotel and Catering Management. |
