Lanneau Siegling, GM of the Embassy Suites 
Hotel Historic Charleston Named
South Carolina Hotelier of the Year
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Sept. 19, 2000 -- Lanneau Siegling, general manager of the Embassy Suites Hotel® Historic Charleston, was named the �South Carolina Hotelier of the Year� by the Hospitality Association of South Carolina during the Spirit of Hospitality 2000 awards program ceremony in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Tuesday, Sept. 12. 

The award recognizes a hotel owner or manager who has shown exemplary customer service, employee relations, community service and dedication to advancing the lodging industry in South Carolina. Siegling received recommendations from the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau, his hotel owners and staff and other hoteliers in the state. �I�m humbled and honored that my associates and peers thought so much of me to recognize my commitment to the industry, Embassy Suites Hotel and the Charleston community,� said Lanneau Siegling. 

A 30-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Siegling serves on many numerous community hospitality organizations.  He serves as a vice president for the Hospitality Association of South Carolina. His past community involvement includes: chairman, Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau; president, Greater Charleston Hotel/Motel Association; chairman, Hospitality Division of the Trident United Way; member, Mayor�s Tourism Management Advisory Committee; member, City of Charleston Joint Committee on Tourism; and member, Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce�s Public Affairs Committee.

Siegling has managed several hotels under the Hilton Hotels Corporation umbrella, with the latest being the Embassy Suites Hotel Historic Charleston, located at 337 Meeting Street in Charleston, S.C. for the last two years. The hotel is a grand restoration of the original Citadel Military College, circa 1800, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings.
