$25 Million in Renovations Planned

Benchmark will have an ownership position in the resort, and in conjunction with the current owner, is planning major renovations to all aspects of the property.  Once completed, the property will be repositioned as a destination with broad national appeal and will serve as the signature resort for the Greater Houston metroplex.  

Renovations will entail a complete makeover of the existing conference center, resulting in a larger number of dedicated meeting rooms.  Additionally, the meeting space will be reconfigured to maximize views of Lake Conroe.  State-of-the-art technology and audiovisual capabilities will be designed into the facility, including flat screen and rear screen projection and video conferencing.  High-speed Internet access will be available via T-1 lines installed throughout the conference center and resort.

Guestrooms, restaurants, and all public space will be reconcepted to produce a Four-star-quality experience.  Recreational upgrades will include extensive work on the existing golf course and the addition of a full resort-style lazy river pool for leisure guests.  Spa and fitness center facilities as well as exterior landscaping will be a part of the renovation program as well.
 

Del Lago Resort is situated on 300 scenic acres on the shores of Lake Conroe near Houston, Texas.   The 21-story, all-suites tower features striking views of the 22,000-acre lake.  Resort accommodations include 310 deluxe guestrooms, 16 two-bedroom lakeside villas, each with a private boat slip, and 58 golf cottages complete with fireplaces and private terraces.   The property offers three restaurants with cuisine ranging from southwestern-inspired to casual fare.

Del Lago�s conference center features 60,000 square feet of flexible function space and a complete business center.  Included are 22 meeting rooms, a 120-seat amphitheater, and three spacious ballrooms.  

Resort amenities include an 18-hole, 6800-yard championship golf course designed by Jay Riviere and Dave Marr, a fully equipped Pro Shop, 11 lighted tennis courts, health spa and fitness center, racquetball, sand volleyball, an oversized swimming pool, high and low ropes teambuilding challenge courses, and a white sand beach.  Also included is a 300-slip marina with boat rental and fishing expeditions.
