ST. PAUL, Minn. - July 10, 2000 - Lee
Zaczkowski, owner and operator of Timberlane Resort in Park Rapids, MN,
has been elected to a one-year term as chairman of Hospitality Minnesota
- Minnesota's Restaurant, Hotel & Resort Associations. Arnold J. Hewes,
CAE, president and CEO of Hospitality Minnesota was re-elected as
president of Hospitality Minnesota at the organization's annual meeting.

As
chairman of the Hospitality Minnesota Board of Directors, Zaczkowski will
oversee the Associations' highly successful annual UP Show, enhancing the
Associations' award winning web site (www.hospitalitymn.com) and working
on pro - tourism and pro - industry legislative issues.
In 1988 Lee and his wife Cathy purchased Timberlane Resort in Park Rapids,
where they now reside. Zaczkowski has been a long time member of the Minnesota
Resort Association Board of Directors and served as its President in 1996.
Previously, Zaczkowski was with U-Haul International, where he served as
President of its Ontario operations for 13 years.
Timberlane is a full service resort open year round with 21 units. The
resort also offers a recreation center, conference facilities, snack bar
and much more.
Hewes is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and has provided the
solid leadership and long-term vision that has guided the organization's
growth for the past 21 years. Hewes manages a staff of 20, in departments
ranging from government affairs to communications to education. He has
dramatically increased the visibility and growth of Hospitality Minnesota.
Hewes and his wife, Judy, reside in Woodbury.
On the national level, Hewes currently serves as a trustee for the American
Hotel & Motel Association's Educational Institute. He is also the only
state executive to have served as president of both the International Society
of Hotel Association Executives (ISHAE) and the International Society of
Restaurant Association Executives (ISRAE).
