Springer - Miller Systems Partners with WorldRes
to Increase Internet Booking for Hotels, Resorts
Stowe, VT, July 5, 2000-Springer-Miller Systems is pleased to announce that they will be partnering with WorldRes.com to develop a connectivity solution between the WorldRes.com booking engine and SMS|World, Springer-Millers Systems module for internet booking capability that integrates directly into the SMS|Host Hospitality Management System.

WorldRes.com is a business services company that distributes hotel information and provides reservations booking capability to leisure travelers via a proprietary global network of website and call center partners. WorldRes.com currently allows properties to maintain rates and inventory allocations via the web, and will accept reservations against this allocation.

SMS|World, Springer-Millers internet server product that allows customers to conduct business via the World Wide Web, uses real-time communication with the SMS|Host Complete Hospitality Management Systems, eliminating the need for manual rate, yield-control, and availability maintenance.  And SMS|World creates actual reservations in real time, eliminating the need to rekey bookings at the property.  SMS|World, released in the middle of 1999, also handles many other types of interactive guest activity in real time.

By integrating with SMS|World, reservations made through the WorldRes.com system will have the same, real-time capabilities, working against actual rates and availability, and generating reservations into SMS|Host without rekeying them.

Springer-Miller properties will benefit substantially by implementing this approach, said John Springer-Miller, President and CEO.  For the first time, individual properties will be able to enjoy direct, real-time Internet booking capabilities on a global basis.

SMS|World has no reservation fees associated with it, so bookings generated directly through SMS|World from a propertys web site will still not have any direct costs.  Bookings generated by the propertys web site through SMS|World have been protected against any fees, said Springer-Miller.  At the same time, this will enable our properties to take advantage of the vast Worldres.com booking network without any maintenance hassles.

Springer-Miller Systems is the leading provider of guest-centric hospitality management solutions, meeting the needs of hotels, resorts, spas and casinos worldwide.

Springer-Miller Systems, Inc. (SMS) began providing complete computer solutions to companies and institutions from a 150-year-old farmhouse in Stowe, Vermont more than 15 years ago.

When SMS was founded in 1983, hotels and resorts in Stowes famous ski area were anxious to find a user-friendly, yet comprehensive property management system with a destination property focus. SMS met the challenge by developing a versatile system to automate the management of hotels, resorts, and time-share properties and after two years of development and testing, SMS|Host was released into the marketplace. As a comprehensive and fully integrated PMS solution, SMS|Host not only meets the needs of destinations resorts, but is designed with guest service at its core making it the property management system of choice for lodging properties of all kinds.

In 1998, Springer-Miller Systems opened its first regional office in Malaysia, Springer-Miller International LLC (a division of Springer-Miller Systems, Inc.), to handle all existing and future installations of SMS products in Asia and the Pacific. To date, we have more than 25 installations in Malaysia, Singapore, the United Kingdom and Asia.
