AH&MA Technology Committee |
Washington, July 10, 2000 - Recognizing that
technology has been, and will continue to be, a force in the success of
the lodging industry in the new millennium, the American Hotel & Motel
Association (AH&MA) has revitalized its technology committee to represent
members who have interests in this dynamic and rapidly changing arena.
The committee will collect and disseminate information on hotel technology, research information systems practices, promote education, and monitor technology-related regulatory issues. David Sjolander, senior director, Hotel Systems for Carlson Hospitality, has been selected chairman and Robert S. Bennett, senior vice president, Hotel Management Transaction Services for Pegasus Solutions, Inc., has been appointed vice chairman. "The technology component is affecting all facets of hotel operations, and keeping up with constant change will be critical," said AH&MA Chairman Bob Slater. "I have selected two of the industry's leaders -Sjolander and Bennett - to assist in the formation and structure of the committee." The committee, which will convene twice a year, held their first meeting during the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Conference show in Dallas, June 21. They will meet again during the AH&MA Fall Conference held in conjunction with the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show in New York City in November. In the interim, a number of subcommittees and individual members will address various issues in conjunction with AH&MA Vice President of Information Technology Rich Jackson and the association's government affairs department. |
