 Lowell Beebe-Center Appointed GM at the 170-room 
Hilton Garden Inn in Norwalk, CT
Valencia Rainey Appointed Director of Sales
NORWALK, CT � July 6, 2000  -- Lowell Beebe-Center and Valencia Rainey have been appointed general manager and director of sales, respectively, of the new three-story, 170-room Hilton Garden Inn in Norwalk, CT.
 
As general manager, Beebe-Center will oversee all aspects of the hotel�s operations.  He will play an instrumental role in directing the completion of construction, staffing and start-up operations of the new hotel located at 560 Main Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
 
Prior to his appointment, Beebe-Center was general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Shelton, CT.  He has also been general manager of the Hampton Inn and Suites in Victor, NY.  Under his direction, the hotel received high employee satisfaction scores in a survey performed by its management company, New Castle Hotels.  An industry veteran, Beebe-Center�s lengthy career includes terms as director of hotel operations at the Sheraton University Hotel and Conference Center in Syracuse, NY and director of operations at the Sheraton Tara Hotel in Nashua, NH. Lowell holds a bachelor of arts degree from New England College, and has completed with honors numerous managerial and marketing courses.
 
As director of sales, Rainey will oversee all aspects of the hotel�s sales and marketing efforts, including marketing the hotel�s meeting facilities and managing the sales team.
                                                                           
Prior to joining the Hilton Garden Inn, Rainey was director of sales and marketing at Courtyard by Marriott in Orange, CT and Westborough, MA.  Rainey began her career in hospitality as a sales coordinator at the Days Inn in Elmsford, NY and also worked at the Cadillac Hotel and Resort in Miami Beach, FL and at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Greenwich, CT.  
 
Rainey holds a bachelor degree in business administration from Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY and an associates degree in applied science from
SUNY, Farmingdale, NY.
 
The Hilton Garden Inn Norwalk, slated to open in November, is managed by New Castle Hotels, a hotel ownership and management company based in Shelton, CT. New Castle co-owns the property with Widewaters Group of De Witt, NY, which provides the contracting services.
