Obtains Four Star Category from the Government of the Balearic Islands |
July 2000 - The Sol Élite Cala Blanca (Palma Nova, Majorca) has obtained an official four star category after undergoing a thorough renovation. The category has been awarded by the Government of the Balearic Islands, and has coincided with the receipt of the Gold Medal Awards for summer 1999 and winter 1999-2000 from the British tour operator Thomson. A total amount of 400 million pesetas 2.40 million euros- has been invested in the hotel renovation. According to the General Manager of the Sol Élite Cala Blanca
Hotel, Sebastián Darder, the award of the fourth star is the reward
for the tremendous efforts that are being made by Sol Meliá to provide
superior quality products and services that are perfectly adapted to the
changing needs of guests.
In recognition of these efforts, the prestigious British tour operator Thomson has awarded the Sol Élite Cala Blanca its Gold Medal Award for summer 1999 and winter 1999-2000. Located right alongside the beach at Palma Nova on the island of Majorca in the Mediterranean, the Sol Élite Cala Blanca provides 176 well-appointed rooms and 4 suites, all equipped with the latest modern technology. The hotels excellent location, its proximity to the Santa Ponsa and Poniente golf courses and its extensive entertainment programme and sports facilities make it an ideal holiday destination.
