$10 million Expansion |
VAALS, THE NETHERLANDS (August 3, 2000). Vaalsbroek,
a Dolce-owned and managed conference hotel in the Vaals region of The Netherlands,
has just completed a $10-million renovation and expansion project growing
the property to 130 guestrooms and 22 meeting rooms. A new, extensive spa
was also added -- Dolce Vital Beauty and Health -- which features an indoor
pool, fitness room and spa offering massage, aroma therapy, Finnish sauna
and a beauty salon.
Cynthia Schneider, U.S. Ambassador to The Netherlands, officially opened the new guest wing of the hotel and addressed the guests and dignitaries, including the Governor of Limburg and the Mayor of Vaals. As the world gets smaller and smaller while its economies become more global, the United States has increasingly recognized the great value and advantages of doing business in The Netherlands. Dolce Internationals expansion of Vaalsbroek will further awareness of the tri-national Limburg area internationally and bring added economic opportunity into the Vaals region. It is exciting to see companies like Dolce International expand their operations here, and I wish them much success in the future. Added Dolce, The expansion and renovation of Vaalsbroek is an important step in further penetrating the European conference center market. As the only American-based conference center company operating in Europe, we are focused on providing superior conference properties with access to key cities. We are confident that the new Vaalsbroek, located near Brussels, Dusseldorf and Maastricht airports, will be a popular choice with both our American and European clientele. Dedicated Learning Environment
Enhanced Fitness Facilities
Dolce/AEW, L.P. purchased Vaalsbroek in March 1999 and began the renovation and expansion shortly after. Initially the existing 50 guestrooms were completely refurbished, a new lobby lounge added, and the a la carte restaurant, In de Oude Watermolen, expanded. Set in the wooded foothills of Eifel and the Ardennes, Vaalsbroek is located in the balcony of Europe, at Drielandenpunt, where the borders of The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium meet. Featuring an authentically restored castle dating back to the 13th century, Vaalsbroek combines the modern amenities of a four-star property with the charm of Europe. The hotel is only 20 minutes from Maastricht, a beautiful and historic Dutch city settled by the Romans in 50 BC. Owned and managed by Dolce International, Vaalsbroek is part of a growing network of conference hotels, conference resorts and private/corporate centers in the United States, Canada and Europe. In Europe, Dolce International is also owner and manager of two additional conference hotels and golf resorts Hôtel du Domaine de Chantilly just north of Paris, France and Frégate in Provence, France. |
