Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels Markets Resort in Southern Hemisphere�s 
Largest Ski Desination 
Sydney, Australia, August 16, 2000 - Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels and TransAct Hotel and Motel Brokers have been appointed to market the Perisher Manor Ski Resort for sale on behalf of Keenhold Pty Ltd, a private family holding company.  The resort is located on Mount Perisher in Perisher Blue Ski Resort � approximately 500 kilometers southwest of Sydney. 

�The Perisher Manor Hotel is a virtual goldmine returning its owners a handsome profit in just three and a half months per year,� remarked George Nicholas, Associate of Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels.  �Further opportunity to enhance profits is expected when work commences on the first stages of the Perisher Valley Master Development Plan in October this year with construction of an 8-seat, high-speed chair lift at the hotel�s doorstep.  Additionally, the resort has been approved for expansion, and they plan to add approximately 350 rooms to the village during the next few years.  Ultimately, they will build a village center near the resort that will include private residences.�

Perisher Manor Resort is the most awarded hotel in the Snowy Mountains region, having recently won the Snowy Mountains Region Awards for Excellence in Tourism for Unique Accommodation.  The property has also won industry awards in the areas of Superior Accommodation, Marketing and Best Practices.

�Perisher Manor is the closest hotel to the main ski lifts of Perisher Blue, including the Perisher Express Quad Chairlift which offers the quickest route up the mountain,� said Rob Cross, National Director, TransAct Hotel and Motel Brokers.  �It is a truly ski-in, ski-out hotel.� 
 

The Resort comprises 49 deluxe- and budget-standard guestrooms.  Food and beverage facilites include a restaurant/cocktail bar and café.  Attached is �The Pub,� the largest public bistro in Perisher Valley featuring a food court and public bar equipped with pool tables and gaming machines.

�During ski season, the area is used for live entertainment performances in the evening, featuring popular Australian entertainers,� said Cross.  �During the day, The Pub is alive with skiers as it is a social hub and renowned meeting place, enjoying one of the largest daytime trade businesses in Perisher Blue.�

The property was formerly known as The Valley Inn, with the original section dating back to the 1960s.  Extensive additions and refurbishments took place during 1985.
