Pegasus Business Intelligence�s Data Mining Shows 
Internet Hotel Bookings and Average Daily Rate 
are up for Labor Day Weekend Travel 

DALLAS (August 22, 2000) � Pegasus Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: PEGS) today revealed that the Internet has significantly increased in popularity with travelers planning Labor Day weekend getaways this year, and the average daily rate (ADR) for hotels booked on the Web is up $9 over the same weekend in 1999.

The "travel snapshot" was prepared by Pegasus Business Intelligence, using Internet reservations data from all of the Web sites whose hotel reservations are Powered by Pegasus�. Pegasus Business Intelligence is the data warehousing and data marketing service of Dallas-based Pegasus Solutions, a leading provider of hotel industry transaction processing solutions and electronic commerce services. 

Pegasus Business Intelligence�s "travel snapshot" indicates that Internet hotel bookings for the 2000 Labor Day weekend are up 130 percent over the same period last year, and the average daily rate of hotels booked online for that weekend increased to $119 from $110 in 1999. 

The "travel snapshot" is the result of Pegasus Business Intelligence�s data analysis of the thousands of Internet hotel reservations booked around the world through the more than 1,000 travel Web sites whose online hotel reservations are Powered by PegasusTM. The data mining service looked at reservations that were made as of August 1 for the coming Labor Day weekend (August 31 through September 4). 

Pegasus� data also indicated that a Friday arrival continues to be travelers� preference for Labor Day weekend travel, followed by Saturday, which is consistent with last year�s bookings. 

Through its customers� affiliates, Pegasus Solutions powers the online hotel reservations on more than 1,000 Web sites, providing detailed property information, photographs and real-time reservations at more than 34,000 hotels. Sites Powered by Pegasus� include hotel-branded sites such as LaQuinta.com and BestWestern.com, as well as online travel agency sites such as TravelNow.com, TravelWeb.com and Expedia.com.

According to industry analyst eMarketer, online travel sales are expected to grow to $25.2 billion by 2003.
