DENVER - August 28, 2000 - Destination Hotels & Resorts, manager of 22 independent, luxury hotels and resorts nationwide, recently recruited Michael George as senior vice president of operations responsible for the eastern United States. His main focus will be to grow the company in this region. Also a new recruit, Rodger MacDonald joins the company as vice president of strategic sales to advise sales teams on selling processes and strategies.

Michael George and Rodger MacDonald join Destination Hotels & Resorts with proven track records in the industry. Each is an incredible asset to our growing team, said Charles Peck, president and chief operating officer.  Their previous successes exemplify their valuable experiences and will help grow Destination Hotels & Resorts to be the leader of independent luxury hotels.

George brings an exceptional background to Destination Hotels & Resorts, most recently gained at Hudson Hotels Corporation. From 1998 to 2000, George was president and chief operating officer for Hudson Hotels, responsible for the growth of the company from 29 to 61 assets in 18 states. The key difference between Destination Hotels & Resorts (DH&R) and most chain-affiliated operations is our entrepreneurial approach, which grants the freedom for our properties to excel within the proven system of the companys management model. With this management approach, Destination Hotels & Resorts is attracting business professionals with extensive experience in the hospitality resort industry. Each property included in the portfolio is seen and managed as a singular asset requiring an equally singular approach. From the onset of any project, our approach is proactive and comprehensive, building the identity and value of each property individually while ensuring each fit within the DH&R co-branded family of hotels.. Properties include the Hotel del Coronado near San Diego; the Inverness Hotel & Golf Club near Denver; the Royal Palms Hotel & Casitas in Phoenix; Eden Roc Resort & Spa in Miami Beach; Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore.; Southpark Suite Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina and Tenaya Lodge in Yosemite, Calif.
