Orlando, Fla. -- (August, 2000) -- The fantasy Doubletree Castle Hotel
located on the famous International Drive, received its fifth coveted Outstanding
quality assurance rating, a feat no other Doubletree Hotel in the nation
has achieved. The first Outstanding came in May 1998 when the Castle
was one of 17 hotels to receive the top rating.
The outstanding quality assurance rating is a rating given by Hilton
Corporation to hotels that consistently exceeds the rigorous cleanliness,
service, food and beverage, safety, and overall appearance standards.
I
am very proud of my dedicated staff who have worked real hard in order
for us to accomplish such a feat five times in a row, remarked Ron Gulasa,
General Manager.
Opened in 1995, the 216-room, Doubletree Castle Hotel is a sophisticated,
upscale, one-of-a-kind medieval themed hotel that expresses the personality
of a 16th century English castle. The Doubletree Castles exterior is elegantly
washed with shades of pink, lavender and gold, crowned with towering spires
and two rooftop terraces.
Upon entering the Doubletree Castle, guests are greeted by the larger-than-life
Castle Creature that guards the hotel and its guests. Within the
main lobby area are interesting and unique collections of art from Europe,
antique dolls, German steins and firearms gathered from around the world.
The royally appointed guestrooms feature a six-channel stereo, 25-inch
colored television with remote, three phones with voice mail and data port,
a king or two queen-size beds, refrigerator and in-room electronic safe,
coffee maker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and room service. In addition,
there is over 7,500 square feet of flexible meeting space including a stunning
ballroom.
Guests staying at the Doubletree Castle have several dining and room
service options. The Castle Café, located in hotel lobby,
serves breakfast fit for a king and queen. Jesters Poolside Bar
serves snacks, sandwiches and refreshments. Café Tu Tu Tango,
decorated like a Spanish artists loft, offers an all appetizer menu
of international cuisine for lunch and dinner. Also, Vitos Italian
Chop House, the finest steak and seafood restaurant in Orlando, features
a significant menu of entrees for dinner, along with special desserts and
an extensive wine list.
The Doubletree Castle Hotel shares the legendary name and refined standards
of Richard C. Kesslers Grand Theme Hotels, a portfolio of unique hotels,
each boasting individual architecture and interior design; all with a common
commitment to service, value and entertainment. Other Florida based
Grand Theme Hotels include the Sheraton Safari Hotel in Lake Buena Vista,
opened in 1997 an affiliated property owned by Meristar; the Sheraton
Studio City Hotel in Orlando, opened June 1999; the Celebration Hotel in
Celebration, opened in November 1999: the Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine
and the Westin Grand Bohemian in downtown Orlando, opening in March 2001. |
The Kessler
Enterprise, Inc. is a dynamic real estate development,
ownership, and management company that specializes in hotel properties
and commercial real estate. Founded by Richard C. Kessler in 1985 in Atlanta,
Georgia, the company initially developed a 900-acre industrial park (Georgia
North), a 500-acre residential and commercial Planned Unit Development,
and several hotels. The company, through its related and sister companies,
owns six hotels and will open an additional property in 2001. Further,
The Kessler Enterprise, Inc. is the parent company to 41 other entities.
Mr. Kessler's expertise
in the hotel and real estate business is grounded in his experiences with
Cecil B. Day in the founding and expansion of Days Inn of America. Recognizing
the potential for phenomenal growth in Florida in the early 1970s, Kessler
established Day Realty of Orlando in 1972 and began developing and successfully
operating over 3,000 rooms in Orlando. Kessler served as President, CEO,
and Chairman of Days Inn of America from 1975 until 1984. The company sold
in 1984, and Kessler turned his attention to other endeavors and founded
The Kessler Enterprise, Inc. with headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
Believing that people
want to be entertained, have fun, and be comfortable when they stay at
a hotel on business or on vacation, Kessler developed his vision for highly
themed hotels. In 1995, he built, opened and is currently operating The
Doubletree Castle Hotel on International Drive in Orlando. Kessler bought
and sold the 490-room Days Inn at Lake Buena Vista after successfully operating
that property for almost two years and developing a safari design and concept.
It has become the Sheraton Safari Hotel, Grand Theme Hotel's first franchise
hotel. In February 1997, Kessler opened the Hampton Inn Savannah North
in Savannah, Georgia. 1999 was a big year for The Kessler Enterprise with
the opening of three new hotels! In June 1999, after a complete renovation,
the 21-story 1940's Hollywood themed Sheraton Studio City Hotel opened
on International Drive in Orlando. The 115-room boutique Celebration Hotel,
located in the downtown area of Celebration, opened in November 1999 and
in December 1999, the 112-year old historical Casa Monica Hotel located
in the heart of downtown St. Augustine, opened its doors after a complete
renovation. Scheduled to open spring 2001, the Westin Grand Bohemian. |
