Former Mirage Exec, Robert D. Sheldon, Named 
Chief Operating Officer of Foxwoods Resort Casino

MASHANTUCKET, Conn. - June 22, 2000 -- Robert D. Sheldon has been named Chief Operating Officer of Foxwoods Resort Casino, widely recognized as the world�s largest and most successful casino. Mr. Sheldon will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the property. 

He was president of the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

�Bob is going to be a perfect complement to our Foxwoods management team,� said Bill Sherlock, former Foxwoods COO, who becomes president and CEO of Foxwoods on June 25. �I know what that job requires, and Bob�s skills, experience and personality are going to serve our guests, employees and the tribe well.�

Sheldon was raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He moved to Las Vegas in 1976 to attend the College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. At that time, he began a 13-year career with the Hilton Hotels Corporation as a reservations clerk at the Las Vegas Hilton.

While working with Hilton, Sheldon progressed through various positions in the Front Office and Hotel Division, taking posts as resident manager at the Reno Hilton, the Waldorf-Astoria in New York, where he oversaw a multi-million dollar renovation of the landmark property, and the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

He returned to Las Vegas in 1989 to join the Golden Nugget Corporation as vice president of Hotel Operations at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino.

He and his wife, Beverly, will reside in the Southeastern Connecticut area.
