Ritz-Carlton Installing  MICROS-Fidelio Systems to Provide 
Their Hotel Owners with Economies on Hardware, Training 
and Eliminate Many Complicated Interfaces
COLUMBIA, Md., May 31, 2000 - MICROS Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: MCRS), the leading provider of information technology for the hospitality industry, reached an agreement with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. to install MICROS-Fidelio integrated Front Office, Sales and Catering, Regional Sales Office and Central Sales Office Systems for its hotels worldwide.

With this agreement, MICROS becomes the approved Property Management System (PMS) and Sales and Catering (S&C), Regional Sales Office (RSO) and Central Sales Office System (CSO) supplier for all Ritz-Carlton properties and offices worldwide. The agreement also provides the properties with an upgrade to OPERA Front Office and Sales and Catering. Additionally, the solution includes the already-installed MICROS 8700 system which will continue to be the food and beverage Point-of-Sale (POS) solution for Ritz-Carlton.

MICROS-Fidelio Front Office, and Sales and Catering Systems are proven integrated systems with an extensive feature set for hotels to capture and utilize customer information. The system also has a robust two-way interface with a global reservation system to be used by Ritz-Carlton properties and will soon have an interface to The Ritz-Carlton customer information database.  The Central and Regional Sales Office Systems are also proven systems that provide a hotel�s corporate and hotel sales staff with the tools to capture and share accounts, contacts, leads and bookings throughout the chain.

In announcing this agreement, The Ritz-Carlton CIO, Pam Angelucci, said that the company needed systems with extensive feature sets to handle the innovative and dynamic requirements of The Ritz-Carlton properties as they strive to provide the ultimate guest experience. �The MICROS-Fidelio Systems provide our hotels the ability to capture and utilize very specific guest information so that we may respond to our guests� every need.�

Angelucci also noted that her company selected the MICROS solution because of the company�s unparalleled international presence and its ability to support installation, training and service capabilities in 120 countries.  �Both MICROS-Fidelio�s international infrastructure and the products� international feature set will support The Ritz-Carlton aggressive international growth plans,� she added.

According to William Poe, Senior Vice President of Sales and Strategies, Ritz-Carlton was impressed with the MICROS-Fidelio system�s ability to deliver reliable and efficient performance.
