CAIS (Internet Access) Makes $4.2 million Equity Investment
in INNCOM (Energy Control);
Will Jointly Offer High Speed Internet and In-room Automation Solutions

WASHINGTON, DC June 21, 2000  - CAIS Internet [NASDAQ: CAIS], the leading provider of broadband Internet access solutions to hotels, and INNCOM, the leading provider of guestroom energy control systems, will jointly offer the most advanced, integrated, high speed Internet and in-room automation solutions for hotel guests nationwide.

Using the existing in-building network that CAIS deploys, INNCOMs solution will result in a hotel room that is more convenient for the guest and more cost-efficient for the hotel owner.

Hotel guests will soon be able to control many features in their room, including temperature, lighting, TV, telephone and other features; using just one automated interface. The alliance saves property owners 20-30% per room on energy usage; enabling them to maximize savings while giving their guests the ability to control in-room luxuries through an automated interface.  Energy management data from each room will ride the CAIS in-building network to a central location where it can be collected and analyzed.

As part of the deal, CAIS will make a $4.2 million equity investment in INNCOM and join their Board of Directors.

This unique alliance between two industry leaders will provide value-added benefits for hotel guests and property owners, said Ulysses G. Auger, II, CEO of CAIS Internet.  With this alliance, CAIS shows how we can benefit from technology to create forward thinking solutions for hospitality industry.

Duane W. Buckingham, CEO of INNCOM responded, This type of alliance is unprecedented in the industry.  It will accelerate the deployment of both our energy management and in-room automation technology and CAIS Internets services.  With CAIS Internets growing presence in the hotel industry, its a natural partner for INNCOM.  Our advanced hotel management tools combined with automated interfaces for controlling room features will raise the bar for guestroom quality in the hospitality industry.

CAIS delivers bandwidth to the property and Internet access to multiple users in the guest and meeting rooms at speeds up to 175 times faster than a dial-up connection.  Since CAIS OverVoice technology is installed at the origin of the signal, the copper wire delivers both voice and data signals at the same time across the same wire.  This allows customers to use the telephone while connected on the same telephone line to the Internet.  It also means end-users will have high-speed Internet connections with no additional rewiring or end-user equipment.

CAIS Internet, Inc.is a leading broadband access solutions company.

INNCOM International, Inc. is the worldwide leader in integrated guestroom control systems in the lodging industry.
