Perry J. Snyderman and Edwin H. �Ed� McMullen, Sr., Managing Direictors of Shell Vacations LLC, both received the ACE Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) at its annual conference, held this week in Las Vegas and attended by nearly 4,000 vacation ownership professionals from around the world. 

Snyderman is one of the most recognized real estate attorneys in the U.S. and has been with the Chicago law firm of Piper, Marbury, Rudnick & Wolfe since 1960. His legal background provided him with a unique perspective of the vacation ownership industry and proved invaluable when he and Shelly Ginsburg founded the Shell Group in 1978. Snyderman is a former Chairman of ARDA, as well as the creator of the ARDA Code of Ethics and has served on numerous association committees. 

McMullen has played a major role in shaping the vacation ownership industry for nearly 25 years. In 1977, he developed four resorts in Hilton Head, S.C. and in 1984 merged his company with the Marriott Hotel Corporation, forming Marriott Ownership Resorts. He later formed a joint venture with Hilton Hotels Corporation, guiding Hilton�s entry into the vacation ownership industry, joining Shell Vacations in 1997.  He has served as ARDA�s Chairman for two terms and is an active member of the American Hotel & Motel Assn.,  serving as Chairman of its Vacation Ownership committee and the Urban Land Institute, serving on its Resort Development Council. 

Shell currently operates 17 resorts in Canada, California, Arizona and Hawaii and serves more than 50,000 owners. With over 2,000 employees, Shell is one of the nation�s largest independent vacation ownership developers, generating about $100 million per year in sales.
