SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jan. 12, 1999 - Eleven Californians
have been elected by their industry peers to serve on the California Travel
and Tourism Commission (CTTC) it was recently announced. Those elected
in their respective industry categories are:

The commissioners were elected to four-year terms, which began January
1, 2000 and expire December 31, 2003.
�We are extremely pleased to have such a dedicated group of tourism
professionals serving on the CTTC,� said Caroline Beteta, Executive Director,
California Travel and Tourism Commission. �Their expertise and vision will
help shape California�s tourism future,� she added.
The commissioners� first official duties will be to participate in the
CTTC meeting in San Diego on February 24, 2000.
The CTTC is a private, nonprofit corporation working in partnership
with the California Trade and Commerce, Agency, Division of Tourism to
market California as a travel destination. Chaired by the Secretary of
the California Trade and Commerce Agency, the Commission includes 24 elected
commissioners, 12 Governor-appointed commissioners (representing each tourism
region) and an executive director. The CTTC was created in December 1997
under the terms of the California Tourism Marketing Act, which allows for
an annual industry-wide assessment. |
