Techno
Explosion on the River
Bangkok, February 2000 - Royal Orchid Sheraton has now taken steps to increase staff awareness of the Information Technology explosion that has engulfed our world. Rudi Scherb, General Manager, says Regardless of what you do within our organization, you should have computer knowledge as a basic right. He has therefore empowered the organization to set up a staff training room with 16 Networked PCs. Staff has enlisted to undertake Computer Training like Windows, Office and Internet based software. Regardless of their areas of responsibility, they are being encouraged to connect up with todays world and increase their knowledge and competence. To date, the hotel has more than 200 staff queuing up for this training program. The emphasis is on getting people who have zero computer experience to break the shackles and learn. No surprise to see that over 145 people in the training program have ever touched a computer before! This training will be a formal course by which people can advance in
their fields and be aware of the direction the world is advancing into,
says Rudi Scherb, with a proud smile, we want every generation to be computer
literate in our organization.
