WASHINGTON - Feb. 14, 2000- MeriStar Investment Partners, a $400 million investment partnership, today announced that it has completed the acquisition of the 221-room Wyndham Milwaukee Center in Wisconsin. The property is the eighth hotel acquired by the partnership.

The partnership has begun a $3.9 million renovation of all guestrooms and the propertys food & beverage outlets. The Wyndham Milwaukee Center perfectly fits our strategy of purchasing high quality, attractively priced hotels with substantial meeting space in prime downtown locations, said Paul Whetsell, chairman and CEO of both MeriStar Hospitality and MeriStar Hotels & Resorts. With the completion of the renovation and the implementation of our proprietary management and marketing systems, the hotel will be well positioned to solidify its position as a market leader amongst Milwaukees finest hotels.

Located in the citys entertainment district between the Milwaukee River Walk and Water Street, the 10-story hotel is within walking distance of the Bradley Center, Milwaukee Auditorium and Arena and the newly opened 200,000 square foot Midwest Express Convention Center. The property is the cornerstone of the Milwaukee Center, a mixed-use development encompassing four local performing arts theaters, including the renowned Pabst Theater; a retail Galleria; the 370,000 square foot Milwaukee Center Office Tower; and an 800-space parking garage.

The Wyndham Milwaukee Center, with more than 40 percent of its guestrooms configured as suites, provides more than 14,200 square feet of meeting space, two F&B outletsthe Kilbourn Cafe and Juneau Pub, a health club, sauna, spa, sun deck, business center and same day laundry/valet. Each room is equipped with two telephones with two lines and dataports, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board.

In addition to upgrading guestrooms and food & beverage outlets, the renovation plan includes the conversion of the top two floors into luxury accommodations served by a new concierge loungethe first and only in the city. Guestrooms will receive new furnishings and amenities.
