Hospitality has announced the promotion of Ellen Sinclair to the position
of Vice President of Human Resources. The appointment was announced
by Sam Haigh, Chief Operating Officer of Benchmark.
As Vice President of Human Resources, Ms. Sinclair will be responsible for all departmental activities for the Benchmark organization including the development of new incentive programs and positioning the company as an employer of choice nationwide. She will be based out of Benchmark�s Home Office in The Woodlands, Texas. �Ellen is a strong team builder with excellent motivational skills. Her personal strengths, professional experience and industry knowledge will be extremely beneficial to our success as well as our future growth,� said Sam Haigh. �Ellen knows Benchmark, she understands our culture and will bring to this new role a valuable operations perspective.� Ellen Sinclair joined Benchmark in 1995 and served as General Manager at The AT&T Learning Center located in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, a state-of-the-art conference center and hotel. Previously she was General Manager of the Radisson Hotel & Suites in Fairfield, New Jersey, earning Radisson�s prestigious President�s Award for Excellence during her tenure with the property. Prior to this, Ms. Sinclair served as General Manager of the Radison Inn in Paramus, New Jersey, and before this as General Manager of Avon Old Farms Hotel in Avon, Connecticut. Ellen Sinclair graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Business Administration. She is a Certified Hotel Administrator through the American Hotel & Motel Association, a Real Property Administrator and a Facilities Management Administrator through the Building Owners and Managers Institute International. Ms. Sinclair attended Cornell University and the Center for Constructive Change at the University of New Hampshire. She has served as instructor in Hospitality Sales & Marketing at the Katherine Gibbs School, as Mentor in the Leadership Program with Women Unlimited, Inc., and as a member of the Board of Directors for the International Association of Conference Centers. Ms. Sinclair has also served on the Board of Trustees for the John Harms Center for the Arts. She is a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International.
