Hostmark Opening First Branded Resort at 
Taba on the Egyptian Rivera 
 
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. �13 Oct 1999 -  Hostmark Hospitality Group is well on the way to expanding an international presence with 17 development projects in Egypt that will include the first Hostmark branded resort at Taba on the Egyptian Rivera and its first international regional office in Cairo.  Franchises of the projects include Ramada Plaza, Howard Johnson Plaza and Wyndham.

The international expansion underway for the Schaumburg, Ill.-based company includes a master license agreement for Egypt with Cendant Global Services B.V. and Howard Johnson International.  The first Howard Johnson property is scheduled to open in November in Sharm El Sheikh on the Sinai Coast.  The resort property will include 366 guest rooms and three restaurants in an area of renowned scuba diving and snorkeling.

The first Hostmark flag is planned for Taba scheduled for a March, 2000 opening.  The hotel with 291 guest rooms and 15 luxury suites will be 210 miles from Cairo and 10 miles from Israel and Jordan.   The new Hostmark regional office in Cairo will provide operational, sales and marketing support for all planned properties. 

Under the Cendant agreement, Hostmark will bring eight plaza properties into the Howard Johnson System within the next five years.  �We have a long and positive association with Cendant in the United States and we are very excited about the opportunity of bringing the Howard Johnson name to Egypt,� said Robert Cataldo, Hostmark�s President and COO.
