in annual award for professionalism

Boston, MA. - December 15, 1999 Robert Rivers, general manager of The Regal Bostonian Hotel, has been named outstanding general manager of the year by the Massachusetts Lodging Association.

The honor caps off a busy year for Rivers, who this year oversaw the completion of a $13.5 million renovation and addition to the hotel. Prior to the major upgrade, the Bostonian had been recognized as one of the worlds top 500 hotels this year by readers of Conde Nast Traveler magazine.

Its nice to receive the attention, but really, being affiliated with the Bostonian is a reward in itself. We have a fantastic staff thats dedicated to outstanding service, and the property is a classic, said Rivers.
