| MASHANTUCKET, Conn. - Dec. 6, 1999-- A comprehensive supplement to
the December 1999 issue of Casino Player magazine lists Foxwoods Resort
Casino in nearly half of the 33 categories reviewing the best features
and amenities of all casino resorts in the United States and the Caribbean.
“This is a testament to the variety of amenities and the outstanding
level of service provided by employees at the world’s largest resort casino,”
said Foxwoods President CEO Floyd “Bud” Celey. “Everyone has known us as
the biggest, and now they know we’re one of the best.”
Foxwoods’ facilities and amenities are cited in 15 of the 33 categories. The reviews describe Foxwoods’ hotel rooms as “beautifully appointed” with “some of the most attractive suites in the industry.” Our gourmet restaurants Cedars, Fox Harbour, Al Dente, Golden Dragon
and The Bistro are listed among the best steakhouses, seafood, Italian,
Asian and lunch restaurants, respectively. According to Casino Player,
Foxwoods’ Festival Buffet caters to so many people that “the food has no
time to get stale.” There are more than 24 dining establishments at Foxwoods.
The magazine called Foxwoods “one of the hottest entertainment properties in the gaming industry.” The resort casino’s commitment to variety and executive level experience distinguishes it from other properties. Foxwoods Entertainment Group Vice President Tom Cantone is credited with looking beyond the usual roster of “casino circuit” entertainers to provide a unique blend for our diverse guests. Foxwoods’ Cinedrome Nite Club has become one of the hottest video dance clubs and offers free live concerts by famous recording stars. Everything from opera to rock, ballet to boxing has been presented in the Fox Theater and Foxwoods Arena. The magazine reports the resort has presented such diverse acts as Rod Stewart, Lily Tomlin, Luciano Pavarotti, Blondie, Steve Miller, Luther Vandross, Mya, and the Dixie Chicks among others. In addition to the supplement, an article in the main section of the December edition of Casino Player describes in detail the 23 luxurious villas atop the Grand Pequot Hotel towers. It highlights the 5,000 square foot Mashantucket Villa, which is reserved for Foxwoods’ most preferred premium players. In the article, Foxwoods Senior Vice President of Marketing Bob DeSalvio says, “Foxwoods has become a world-class gaming resort, as opposed to simply a Northeast daytrip casino. There are things we have here that no one else can claim - not in Atlantic City, and not even in Las Vegas.” With nearly 6,000 slot machines and 350 table games, Foxwoods Resort Casino offers the best in resort amenities, gaming in a relaxing atmosphere, live entertainment with headliners from around the world, and fine dining at Mashantucket, the ancestral home of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. |
