| POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (Sept. 7, 1999) - Meeting planners using
BusinessMeetings.com to conduct online research of venues and service suppliers
now have the added advantage viewing hotel videos under a newly established
alliance with HotelView Corporation.
HotelView, a wholly owned subsidiary of Visual Data Corporation (NASDAQ: VDAT), produces high-quality hotel video tours for the Internet and as sales tools for lodging establishments. The two- to four-minute video tours can be accessed from HotelView members’ sites, the HotelView site at http://www.hotelview.com, or through a distribution network of more than 650 travel, leisure and business Web links, including BusinessMeetings.com. To appear on BusinessMeeting.com, meeting venues and hotels select either a free entry or the paid premium ‘Green’ entry. Investing only three dollars a day for a premium entry allows a hotel to include additional significant data like information ranging from meeting room dimensions to electrical outlets, as well as maps, weather and other information useful to planners. This new alliance means that HotelView video tours of hotels will now also be included on a hotel’s BusinessMeetings entry. For example, meeting planners can now watch the HotelView video of the Los Angeles Sofitel on the BusinessMeetings.com site, in addition to finding out the number and seating capacity of its meeting rooms.
“Meetings planners are eager to use the Internet to conduct their preliminary research, but there is still a void in the information hotels are supplying on-line,” says HotelView General Manager David Chestler. “HotelView’s video tours mean meeting planners can view hotels in a television-like format. We believe that BusinessMeetings.com will put HotelView’s portfolio of hotels and resorts in front of the right decision makers.” More than 54,000 venues and service providers are listed on the BusinessMeetings.com Web site, including SAS Radisson, some Hyatt European and Middle East, Accor (which includes Novotel, Sofitel, Mercure and Ibis), Chateaux et Hotels de France, the four Disneyland Paris hotels, Group Lucien Barriere and Moevenpick. Visual Data Corporation is a multi-media content producer, marketer and distributor of advertising products and consumer based video libraries for use on the Internet and eventually, Interactive Television. HotelView Corporation, a subsidiary of Visual Data Corporation, combines Visual Data’s digital media technology and superior travel-related distribution network to promote and advertise hotels via sight, sound and motion at a fraction of the cost of traditional media. The video tour is accessed through the hotel’s own Web site using either existing footage, or new footage produced in-house by HotelView that is available for use by the hotel’s sales force. This press release contains forward-looking statements, which involve numerous risks and uncertainties. Actual results, performance or achievements could differ materially from those anticipated in such forward looking statements as a result of certain factors, including those set forth in the Company's filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. |
