SOUTHBURY, CONNECTICUT (AUGUST 12, 1999). After a two-year,
$3.5-million renovation project, The Heritage, a conference resort owned
and managed by Dolce International, stands poised to position itself as
the premiere conference resort in Connecticut.
Explains Andy Dolce, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dolce International,
We are extremely delighted by the dramatic transformation of The Heritage
and are anxious to showcase the propertys winning combination of deluxe
resort amenities and state-of-the-art conference facilities. Much needed
renovations combined with in-depth customer service training and an excellent,
stable management team, have elevated the property to a new level.
Multi-Million-Dollar Renovation
The two-year renovation project included refurbishment of all 163 guest
rooms and suites; major renovations to the awarding winning Timbers on
the Green Restaurant; the expansion and renovation of the lobby; the complete
redesign of the game room and pub, now Shadrachs Revolutionary Taproom;
and the renovation of the Sports Club. Additionally, a $162,000 golf
cart barn was erected and 25 new golf carts were purchased for the propertys
onsite golf course, The Pomperaug Golf Club, which offers nine holes of
golf.
Customer Service Enhancements
Explains General Manager Jeff Weggeman, In addition to the extensive
physical property improvements, The Heritage has been able to transform
and raise its level of service. In April 1999 The Heritage was the
recipient of the prestigious Dolce Cup, a quarterly company-wide award
bestowed upon the Dolce International property that earns the highest ratings
from their customer evaluations. We have not earned the Dolce Cup
since 1994. Now our staff is not only committed to meeting and satisfying
our customers needs, but to exceeding them. We take pride in going
above and beyond what our guests expect. Weggeman joined The Heritage
team as Assistant General Manager in 1997 and was promoted to General Manager
a year later. Says Dolce, He has been instrumental in leading the transformation
of the property.
A Dedicated Learning Environment
Explains Director of Sales & Marketing Jayne Williams, Technological
upgrades have also been an integral part or our propertys turnaround,
both in the guest rooms and the conference wing. We have already added
voicemail and dual dataport access into all guest rooms and have completed
the installation of additional ISDN lines into our conference wing. By
October of this year we will be able to offer our clients an onsite, mobile
videoconferencing unit. Additionally, we will be constructing a Technology
Resource Center that will augment our full-service Business Center. The
resource center, which will be completed by March 2000, will be outfitted
with laptop ports, computer stations, color and laser printers and Internet
access, and will be available for client use 24 hours a day, free of charge.
The
Heritage offers 25 dedicated conference rooms for meetings of up to 225
people. Characterized by large windows and lovely, outdoor terraces, the
conference wing also features a 150-person tiered amphitheater with rearscreen
projection. Convenient to both Westchester and Fairfield counties and Manhattan
and Boston, The Heritage has just earned its third consecutive Pinnacle
Award from Successful Meetings Magazine distinguishing the countrys top
conference centers. The property was also a 1999 Paragon Award recipient
from Corporate Meetings & Incentives.
Owned and managed by Dolce International, the global leader in learning
through meetings and leisure, The Heritage represents a growing portfolio
of conference hotels, conference resorts, and private/corporate centers
in the United States, Canada and Europe. |
