FAYETTEVILLE, NC June 25, 1999 Smith Advertising &
Associates officially launched today a new Internet marketing research
service. Through on-line chat technology and a highly customized web site,
Smith Advertising & Associates is now able to offer clients the capability
to conduct comprehensive focus groups via the Internet.
Systech Systems, a system integration and Internet access firm in Raleigh,
NC, developed the agencys custom-designed web application to specifically
handle its on-line focus groups. The first customer to utilize Smith
Advertisings new service was Sarasota Area Convention & Visitors
Bureau.
The focus group included 12 very targeted people around the country
who were asked specific questions about several creative ads that had been
designed to attract visitors to Sarasota, Florida, said Gary Smith, president
of Smith Advertising & Associates. The results and benefits
of the on-line focus group were phenomenal. Not only did Sarasota
save thousands of dollars in traditional focus group costs, but we were
able to target specific demographics, reach much more qualified prospects,
and obtain unbiased answers due to the fact the person was sitting behind
a computer instead of face to face. The end result is that we were able
to precisely determine which ads would achieve the greatest results.
Smith Advertisings idea of conducting focus groups on-line is highly
innovative, said Jeff Snell, president of Systech Systems. Smith
Advertising is always looking for new technologies and strategies to benefit
their clients this is definitely cutting edge. Im thrilled that
Smith Advertising selected us to assist with their technology implementation.
