Hotels that Consistently Outperformed Honored
Properties Are Among Best of Company's Portfolio of more than 1,300 Hotels
MEMPHIS, Tenn - June 1, 1999-- Promus Hotel Corporation (NYSE: PRH) recently recognized 44 properties as 1999 Pinnacle Award-winning Hotels at Promus' annual Systems Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. The properties were among the best performers of the company's worldwide portfolio of more than 1,300 hotels. 

"In a year of very stiff competition, the 1999 Pinnacle Award winners consistently outperformed national, local and brand competition," said Tom Keltner, president of brand performance and development. Each hotel further distinguished itself from its competitors by understanding and serving customers better." 

Winning hotels were recognized as "best of the best" based on their high ranking for quality, guest satisfaction and business performance. Two-thirds of the scoring was related to quality and product, with the remaining one-third based on financial performance. 

The 1999 Pinnacle Award winners, by category, are:

Top Performing Hampton Inn/Hampton Inn Suites in a Large Market (More than 150,000 Population):  

  • First place Lexington/Georgetown Hampton Inn, Ky.; 
  • Second place Spokane Hampton Inn, Wash.; 
  • Third place Winston-Salem/I-40 Stratford Rd., N.C.; 
  • Runners-Up Richmond-West Hampton Inn, Va.; Birmingham-Colonnade Hampton Inn, Ala.; Milwaukee Airport Hampton Inn, Wis.; Montgomery-East Hampton Inn, Ala.; Shreveport/Bossier City Hampton Inn, La.; New Orleans/St. Charles Ave. Hampton Inn, La.; Des Moines-Airport Hampton Inn, Iowa; and Wilmington Hampton Inn Suites, N.C.
