PORTLAND, Ore., June 30, 1999 - Starwood Hotels Resorts
Worldwide has announced the conversion of the former Riverside Hotel to
the Four Points Portland Downtown, effective Thursday, July 1, 1999.
Developed by Sheraton Hotels Resorts, Four Points hotels cater to business and leisure travelers seeking complete and consistent services. The 140-room Four Points Portland Downtown will feature services including room-service with a 30-minute guarantee, meeting rooms with full-service catering capabilities, in-room computer dataports, complimentary newspaper for each guest and the Riverside Restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. In support of the conversion to the Four Points brand, the hotel will undergo a series of interior and exterior enhancements scheduled for completion by June 15, 2000. Geoff Roemelt, general manager of the Four Points Portland Downtown said, "We have joined the Four Points by Sheraton brand because of the product and service excellence associated with the Sheraton name, and as a result of the commitment demonstrated by Starwood Hotels Resorts Worldwide to the Four Points brand." Four Points Portland Downtown guests will have access to the Sheraton
worldwide reservation system and will be able to participate in Starwood's
Preferred Guest program. Starwood's Preferred Guest allows members to earn
Starpoints at the more than 600 hotels and resorts owned and operated by
Starwood, including Sheraton, Westin, Four Points, W, St. Regis Luxury
Collection and Caesar's properties, and on more than 15 global airline
partners.
